The range of innovative materials has now been expanded with an M35 carbide with a new PCTC coating.
The high temperature stability of M35 carbide guarantees the extraordinarily long-lasting sharpness of the cutting edges, even at higher temperatures. At the same time, extreme wear resistance is achieved by the newly developed PCTC coating, which stands out by way of its especially innovative design and the coating thickness. Its unique surface also makes it the ideal choice for dry machining.
This combination of carbide and coating, in particular, stands for high cutting speeds and feedrates, and thus qualifies the new inserts as the ideal cutting material for the machining of titanium and high-temperature alloys.
New cutting materials tested in the field
Field tests involving the machining of INCONEL 718 have shown that PCTC-coated inserts achieve a remarkable 25% increase in tool life compared to PVST-coated alternatives – a clear economic benefit for the user.
With immediate effect, you can order the new cutting materials through your technical application consultant or from our online shop.
They are available either as round inserts in the sizes r 3,5, r5, r6 and r8 mm or as high-feed or shoulder face milling inserts for the SLOTWORX® milling system in size M.
Our application engineers would be pleased to show you the advantages of the inserts in your specific milling applications.
